2,500 employees

Today 2,500 doctors, surgeons, midwives, nurses and cleaning staff work in the Kantha Bopha hospitals.

The Organisation

The five well-operating Kantha Bopha hospitals in Cambodia are managed by the Foundation, based in Zurich, Switzerland. It collects the money to finance the hospitals’ activities. The Foundation Board is made up of senior Cambodian physicians who had worked with Dr Beat Richner since 1992 and by longstanding members from Switzerland who have supported the Foundation for years.
The CEO, Dr. Peter Studer, replaced Dr. Beat Richner after he stepped down, and has been involved in the project since the beginning. Dr. René Schwarzenbach has been President of the Foundation since 2014.

The Board is carrying on the spirit and philosophy built by Dr. Beat Richner in his hospitals.
