The five Kantha Bopha children’s hospitals recorded a total of 39,365 outpatients and 7,555 warded patients in severe or critical condition for the month of April, according to the Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation.

In a monthly report posted on April 30 to Facebook handle @dr.beat.richner – named for the late founder of the hospitals, the foundation said that in April, 82 children were treated for dengue, 1,636 underwent surgical operations, while 71 had open-heart surgeries or catheterisation procedures.

The maternity ward at Kantha Bopha III, also known as Jayavarman VII Children's Hospital, booked 6,129 outpatients and 1,466 deliveries, the report said.

It also noted that “all treatment are free for all without discrimination”.
