DATA PROTECTION

Privacy policy Foundation of Children's Hospitals Kantha Bopha, Dr. med. Beat Richner

Collection, processing and use of personal data
We do not collect any personal data from you when you visit this website. Personal data is only collected if you provide it yourself via our contact form or send us an e-mail directly. This data will only be used to answer your request and will be deleted afterwards.

Use of own cookies
When you call up certain pages, a so-called "session cookie" is set. This is a small text file which is automatically deleted from your computer at the end of the browser session. The sole purpose of this file is to enable you to use certain applications. You can change the settings of most web browsers so that your browser does not accept new cookies or you can have received cookies deleted. You can usually find out how this works for your browser via its help function.

Server log files
As with any connection to a web server, the server of our web hosting provider Wix logs and stores certain technical data. This data includes the IP address and the operating system of your device, the data, the access time, the type of browser and the browser request including the origin of the request (referrer). This is necessary for technical reasons in order to provide you with our website. The web hosting provider protects this data from unauthorised access with technical and organisational measures and does not pass it on to third parties. Insofar as we process personal data in the process, we do so because of our interest in providing you with the best possible user experience and ensuring the security and stability of our systems. You can find Wix's privacy policy here.

Links to other websites
It is possible to link through this website to other internet sites which are not maintained by us. Such external internet sites are created, published, maintained or otherwise made available by organisations and individuals or entities (independent of us). We are not responsible for the content of these sites.

Social Media Plug-ins

We use so-called plug-ins from the following social networks on our website:
- Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA).
- LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland)
- YouTube (YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066, USA)
- Instagram (Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park CA 94025, USA)

This is apparent to you in each case (typically via corresponding icons). When you visit our website, your browser can establish a direct connection with the servers of the respective social media providers and their platforms and transmit data about your visitor behaviour to these servers. If you are logged in to a social media provider, they can assign the visit to your account created there. We have no influence on the type and scope of the data collected and transmitted by the social media providers. The processing of your personal data is then the responsibility of this provider in accordance with their data protection regulations. We do not receive any information about you from them.

Marketing / Newsletter

On various pages of the website you will find a link to register for our newsletter. The link will take you to the newsletter registration. After entering the information, you can trigger the registration for our newsletter. We use the double opt-in mechanism for this. After sending the registration, you will receive an e-mail from us containing a confirmation link. To definitely register for the newsletter, you must confirm this link.

We will use your data for the newsletter mailing until you revoke your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. You will find the contact details below in section 5. You will also find an unsubscribe link in all newsletter e-mails.

We use the email marketing solution XCAMPAIGN to send our newsletter. Our newsletter may contain a so-called web beacon (tracking pixel) or similar technical means. A web beacon is a 1x1 pixel, non-visible graphic that is associated with the user ID of the respective newsletter subscriber.

For each newsletter sent, there is information on the address file used, the subject and the number of newsletters sent. Furthermore, it is possible to see which addresses have not yet received the newsletter, to which address it was sent and for which addresses the sending failed. You can also see which addresses have opened the newsletter. Finally, the information about which addresses have unsubscribed. We use this data for statistical purposes and to optimize the newsletter in terms of content and structure. This enables us to better tailor the information and offers in our newsletter to the individual interests of the recipients. The tracking pixel is deleted when you delete the newsletter.

To prevent the use of the web beacon in our newsletter, please set your mail program so that no HTML is displayed in messages, if this is not already the case by default.
By registering, you give us your consent to process the data provided for the regular dispatch of the newsletter to the address you have provided and for the statistical evaluation of user behavior and the optimization of the newsletter. This consent constitutes our legal basis for the processing of the data for the newsletter within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

Disclosure of data to third parties

We only pass on users' personal data if the user has expressly consented to this, if there is a legal obligation to do so or if this is necessary for us to enforce rights and claims.
In addition, we pass on users' personal data to third parties insofar as this is necessary in the context of using the website and answering questions, processing enquiries or providing any services requested by the user. The use of the data passed on for this purpose by the third parties is strictly limited to the aforementioned purposes.

Subject matter of the contract Transfer of personal data abroad

We are entitled to transfer personal data of users also to third companies and service providers abroad, if this is necessary within the scope of the purposes mentioned in section 2 above. In doing so, we will of course comply with the statutory provisions on the transfer of personal data to third parties.
These third parties are obligated to data protection to the same extent as we are. If the level of data protection in a country does not correspond to Swiss or EU data protection law, we contractually ensure that the protection of personal data corresponds to that in Switzerland or the European Economic Area (EEA) at all times.

Your rights
You are generally entitled to the rights of information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can complain to the supervisory authority.
