Zurich filmmaker Angela Spörri accompanied the Cambodian Vichea Thun Chay and his family - the result is a touching documentary film. You have the opportunity to see the film on Sunday, 17 November at 11 a.m. at the Bourbaki cinema in Lucerne. The film will be followed by a discussion between Angela Spörri and Kantha Bopha Foundation Councillor Christine Zwygart.
About the filmVichea Thun Chay was left behind by his mother in a refugee camp while fleeing from the Khmer Rouge. He came to Switzerland as an orphan and grew up in the Pestalozzi Children's Village in Trogen. Here he found a new home and started his own family. Today, 30 years later, he wants to come to terms with his fate and sets off with his mother on a journey through Cambodia to the places of his childhood.

"Familienlos" premiered at the Solothurn Film Festival 2023, the film was also nominated for the German Documentary Film Music Award, DOK.fest Munich 2023.
