We look back on the past year with gratitude and pride. Our five children's hospitals were very busy – as the figures confirm:
1,071,637 girls, boys, and babies sought medical assistance from us in 2025. Significantly more children than in the previous year were so seriously ill or injured that we had to admit them as inpatients – 233,243 (up 25.6 percent).
We recorded 22,982 cases of dengue fever, 34,889 surgical procedures, and 1,163 open-heart or cardiac catheterization operations. We also treated 304 children for cancer.
We performed 108,134 outpatient preventive examinations on pregnant women, 20,535 babies were born in our maternity ward, and we cared for 19,515 newborns in our neonatal units.
The increasing workload means additional strain on our 2,723 local employees, which they master with great dedication, professionalism, and empathy. The costs for materials, medications, and consumables are also rising.

Philip Robinson
President of the Foundation Board
«I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all our employees for their tremendous commitment. In 2025, they once again cared for a number of sick and injured children in our hospitals that would be almost inconceivable to the Swiss. The sharp increase in inpatient admissions is an indication that our doctors and nursing professionals have had to deal with an increasing number of serious illnesses and injuries. The specialized teams at our maternity clinic in Siem Reap also made a huge contribution, once again assisting with more than 20,000 births. And the number of vital prenatal checkups during pregnancies increased once again. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.»
